Gangtey Ranch – Phobjikha Valley
In 2018, we opened our second location in the enchanting Phobjikha Valley, after acquiring a traditional farmstead the year before. The charming farmhouse, with sweeping views of the valley and Gangtey Gompa, now serves as a residence for our caretakers and a cozy home base for our ranch operations.
This location took off rapidly due to its accessibility—closer to Paro and Thimphu—and its popularity among travelers. Gangtey (Phobjikha Valley) is a glacial valley known for its stunning natural beauty, cultural richness, and as the winter home of the endangered black-necked cranes.
Surrounded by wide, open landscapes, serene wetlands, and centuries-old monasteries, Gangtey Ranch quickly became a favorite among visitors staying at nearby luxury resorts such as Gangtey Lodge, Aman, Six Senses, and others.
The ranch offers gentle valley rides and access to ancient trekking routes, making it ideal for day rides, photography excursions, and relaxed explorations. With over 15 well-trained, friendly horses, it’s a perfect escape for families, couples, and solo travelers looking for peace, nature, and cultural immersion.
