Riding Option 1 – Nature Trail Ride (Phobjikha Valley)

This scenic valley ride follows the popular Nature Trail, making it perfect for beginners and intermediate riders alike.

Upon arrival at the ranch, you’ll meet your trail guide and receive a safety briefing and basic riding instruction in our outdoor arena. After a short bonding session with your horse, you’ll set out on the trail.

The ride begins from Jangchey village, winding past traditional farmhouses and into a peaceful pine forest. As the valley opens, you’ll find yourself in a wide meadow—the sacred winter roosting ground of the black-necked cranes—with breathtaking views of Phobjikha village and the surrounding hills.

Rhododendron Forest & Lawala Mountain Pass (3,000m)

Ideal for more confident riders, this ride takes you through forested slopes and across mountain ridges with panoramic views.

You’ll start at the ranch with a short arena session to meet your horse and go over safety protocols. Then ride up toward the historic Gangtey Monastery, passing through Decheling village and wide potato fields.

The trail winds through a vibrant rhododendron forest, especially beautiful during April and May. The highlight is crossing the scenic Lawala Pass (3,000m) before descending into Kumbu village and circling back to the ranch.
